I don't trust nobody but the land series
neon, photography. (Utah, Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico) Navajo Nation 2021-2022

Through neon interventions in the landscape, this artwork explores the (im)balance between our drive to conquer the land with technology and our desire for spiritual belonging with it. The title of this work  pays homage to Layli Long Soldier’s 2017 poem,Steady Summer, which resonated with me deeply, as I sought to connect my understanding of violently displaced communities within their own nation-states, to the Native experience in the United States.
